I remember chilling by the pool on my hols, eyes closed, drifting in and out of sleep as Orange Ave played on my Walkman. I must have been so zoned out that when the false ending of Blessing in Disguise faded and then Kicked back in I shot up off my sunlounger and sent my table of drinks and creams flying over the floor, smashing onto the paving. I got some rather funny looks as I sat there dazed and confused!! 🤦🏻♂️😂
While I love all your albums for different reasons. I do feel like you all came into your own on day and night driving. I guess if it’s going to end good to end on a high note athough it makes me kinda sad as I would have loved it to keep going.
I can't seem to post a pic in the comments. It's my profile pic now though. 😉 I was always in love with how it sounded and how it was printed as one continuous word in the jacket of the CD.
I remembering waiting all afternoon for WMMS Cleveland to debut this song in summer of 1998. 1st song I ever learned on guitar from the band. That slow G Chord gets me. Thank God for Thomas and the second act of the band. Throwing in my dimes at the wishing well for a third act!
JR... concerning art and this particular song, in mid 2000's you did a charity show at HOB Orlando for Sister Hazels Foundation. One of the items being auctioned off was a Framed piece of your art with Lyrics of Over Your Shoulder written/painted on a guitar strap. The piece was amazing. I was a broke college kid but I put a bid on it to whatever I had in my account at the time. Of course I got out bid by some high roller, but I always think about that piece when I hear this song years later. It was true Fusion of art and music. I envy the high roller who got it. I still search for it on ebay hoping it might surface one day. That damn wishing well is calling!!!
It's so cool to hear this insight into your band experience. Rest assured that all 6 albums are top notch albums that get plenty of play wherever I'm at....and my son's too. I got them hooked as well.

Thanks for sharing the memories, stories and feelings! ❤️
Thanks! What a great song.
Every abum has it's own personality, and I love them all. But what you say about Day&Nightdriving is true (IMO). For me it's on another level.
So good, thank you for sharing.
Just awesome!!

I have WHISKEYMOUTHBOTTLENECKCARDSTACK tattooed on my arm, so you might say this song had an impact on my life. Thanks for sharing Jason!
